Do I need a referral from my GP?

No referral is required. You can book a tinnitus assessment with our team directly.

How long is a course of treatment?

Most programs run for around 12 weeks, built around two 30-minute at-home sessions a day, with a mid-treatment check-in and a final review appointment with your audiologist.

What is neuromodulation?

Neuromodulation is a treatment approach used across a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain to depression. In simple terms, it works by gently adjusting nerve activity, usually with a small, carefully controlled stimulus like low-level electrical energy, to change how the body or brain responds to a particular condition. In recent years, it’s shown real promise as a treatment for tinnitus, which is why we’re excited to bring it to our Perth patients through Lenire.

What is bimodal neuromodulation?

Bimodal simply means “two modes.” Rather than stimulating one nerve pathway, Lenire stimulates two at the same time: a gentle electrical pulse on the tongue, paired with sound delivered through the ears. Research shows that stimulating both pathways together encourages stronger adaptive changes in the brain than stimulating just one. In practice, that means Lenire can help turn down the brain’s attention to tinnitus more effectively than single-pathway approaches.

Does Lenire come with a warranty?

Yes. Every Lenire device is backed by a three-year warranty, and we’ll talk you through exactly what that covers when we fit yours.

Controller: Built to last the full three years of expected use.
Tonguetip: Rated for 180 hours of cumulative use. For most people using Lenire around 60 minutes a day, that works out to about six months before it needs replacing. This isn’t a shortcut on quality, it’s there to keep the electrodes clean and working as they should, session after session.
